Vietnam Government Announces New E-Visa Policy Effective from August 15
The Vietnamese government has officially decided to issue Vietnam electronic visas (E-Visas) to citizens of all countries entering Vietnam, effective from August 15.
This policy includes holders of Chinese passports (passport numbers starting with “E”) and Taiwanese passports.
Previously, Chinese passport holders who wished to travel to Vietnam for tourism or business were required to apply for a Visa on Arrival, a process that was significantly more complicated than applying for an E-Visa.
From August 15 onward, Chinese passport holders can now apply directly for a Vietnam E-Visa, making the application process much simpler and more convenient.
Can Chinese Passport Holders Apply for a 90-Day Vietnam E-Visa?
In the past, Vietnam E-Visas only allowed travelers to stay in Vietnam for 30 days with single entry.
However, according to the newly announced policy by the Vietnamese government, the E-Visa validity period has been extended from 30 days to 90 days.
As a result, citizens holding Chinese and Taiwanese passports can now choose between the following options:
90-day single-entry E-Visa
90-day multiple-entry E-Visa
This update provides much greater flexibility for travelers planning longer stays or multiple trips to Vietnam.
